There's been yet another school shooting. Seven dead as of this morning.
I think that the most depressing thing might be how little news coverage it's getting. We're getting used to this type of tragedy; immune, somehow. It gets talked about briefly during newscasts, we see film of people on stretchers, loaded into ambulances, huddled together in shock, then go on to something else. Last night, Nightline led with the story, but promptly went on to a fluff piece for Valentine's Day about two married police officers in San Francisco. I seem to recall there was yet something else on after that, but I got irritated and turned it off. The other newscasts I saw last night were the same. Most didn't even lead with the story.
What does this say about us?
